#FridayFeature - The Family Trap - Joanne Phillips

Friday's are about the end of the working week. They're about clocking off at the end of the day and knowing its the weekend. So each week I aim to bring a #FridayFeature that showcases a book or an author you can to enjoy at the weekend (or at any other time).

This weeks feature is all about "What's New on Kindle". As you know I love the world of social media and spend most of my life floating around the web for work, study, or play. I find myself invited to many virtual book launches. One this week that particularly sparked my attention was The Family Trap by Joanne Phillips.

I know Joanne Phillips in passing from a Facebook group we were both members of and I've read Life Unpredicted and Other Stories, which is a great collection of short stories, but what particularly caught my eye about The Family Trap was the premise. What happens when happily ever after doesn't go according to plan?

Released on Valentine's Day, it and the first in Stella's story are both on my kindle and ready for those elusive reading slots. So without further adieu I give you...

The Family Trap

"There are moments in life that define you - moments from which entire futures are carved out, where you can practically see the universe split into two."

Becoming a grandmother at thirty-eight may not be ideal, but Stella Hill can cope - just about - because in two weeks' time she's getting married to the love of her life. She's waited over twenty years to finally get her man; Paul Smart is her destiny, her soul mate.

But when Stella finds out she's pregnant - a pregnancy that's unplanned and unexpected, not to mention inconvenient - she takes it in her stride. Marriage, baby, new adventures on the horizon. It's not a problem. At least, not for her.

Just how do you break the news of a baby on the eve of your wedding? And what can you do if your plans turn out to be wildly different from the plans of the one you love? As Stella's dream wedding turns into a nightmare, she learns that sometimes the people we love don't react the way we thought they would. And maybe sometimes love means letting go.

What readers are saying about The Family Trap

"Well in my opinion, Joanne Phillips has outdone herself with the second installment of Stella's tumultuous life. The Family Trap had me more engaged with the characters, and this was probably because I already knew all the characters from the first book 'Can't Live Without'."  Ms.E.D Harrison Amazon UK

The Family Trap is the stand-alone sequel to Kindle bestseller Can't Live Without.

What readers are saying about the first installment of Stella's Story

"This romance is the perfect pick-me-up if you're feeling a little down in the dumps for any reason. Well-written, perceptive and funny, it cheered me up on a dark, rainy day." E.Jasper - Amazon UK
